Assistant Director, Community Developmentwhat zip would do
The city’s proposed Zoning Improvement Program (ZIP) will RE-ZONE AND UP-ZONE your neighborhood allowing up to 7 stories, larger buildings, quadplexes, apartments, mini homes, and multifamily right next to and on top of you – squished in – overtowering and overpowering your home. This would:
- Destroy the scale and character of the neighborhood
- Reduce privacy and livability for families
- Create traffic, parking, and safety problems
- Provide no protections for homeowners or tenants
- Serve as a windfall for developers, not residents
WHY THIS MATTERS
West Hollywood is unique—especially the city’s last predominantly single-family neighborhoods:
- Historic homes and tree-lined streets
- Space for families to grow
- Character and charm that can’t be replaced
Your small corner of West Hollywood is irreplaceable. It deserves protection, not re-zoning and up-zoning.
families deserve choice
- Residents have the right to live in a neighborhood they love
- West Hollywood should not force everyone into small or stacked homes
- State housing mandates can be met elsewhere without sacrificing this historic neighborhood
